Zonal Education Director's Message
In realizing the objective of His Excellency the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to ensure sustainable development through a peaceful and a prosperous country, it is our duty to provide every child with equal opportunities in education regardless of his ethnicity, religion, social class, caste or creed. As the Zonal Education Office of the Nuwara Eliya Educational Zone, our first and the foremost duty is to protect our children’s right to equal opportunities in education.
Our main objective is to provide the country with a workforce, fully equipped with knowledge, skills and attitudes furnished by the successful implementation of the formal curriculum as well as the extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. Facilitation of the development of a healthy student community in a society, free of intoxication will pave the way for the achievement of this objective. As the Zonal Director of Education, it is my main duty to facilitate the accomplishment of this ideal society, by managing the physical and human resources to their maximum capacity. I wish all of you to be bestowed with the strength needed to fulfill your share of duty in achieving this objective.
